Physiotherapy Rehabilitation in the Pilates studio can be really beneficial if you have had surgery or fractures and are working on regaining strength, improving your alignment or are at a low level of fitness with medical conditions. Ellen has over 25 years of working as a physiotherapist so a programme in the studio can be tailored to your specific needs. In addition to using the Pilates equipment the program can include balance retraining, functional fitness, weights and plyometric training.

Ellen is at Pilates Sheen on Mondays and Wednesdays and Pilates Richmond on Tuesdays and Fridays. Clinical Pilates is suitable if you require 1:1 rehabilitation post injury or surgery or your health requires more clinical management of your exercise programme. Once you have reached a good level you can be referred to one of the Pilates instructors to continue your programme.

Pilates 1:1 and 1:2 Studio Classes

A Pilates class at Pilates Sheen & Richmond is always with an experienced instructor who can guide you through the Pilates repertoire. If you have any health or rehabilitation concerns these can be discussed first with the studio owner to find you the most appropriate instructor and class for your individual requirements.

Classes are 55 minutes long and are either private, you and the instructor or semi private you and one other student with the instructor. In both studios there are two reformers, a full trapeze table and wunda chair. In Richmond we also have the ladder barrel. You get to explore the studio equipment and move your body to increase your flexibility, connect with your breath, strengthen your core, improver your balance and body awareness.

Pilates is useful for both the elite level athlete and the rehabilitating / remedial client.

Reformer Classes

Reformer classes are 2 person classes where you do a full body workout for 50 minutes on the reformer. These are taught by Nicole and are in the Sheen Studio on Tuesdays.

They are high energy and fun workouts where you move around the reformer. These are not suitable if you have specific injuries or rehabilitation needs. They are fitness based Pilates classes to work your entire body.
